Take this one if somebody in your party wants to drive something. It is the most-reviewed morning on this whole valley's listings by a clear margin, and the reason is that it does two things well rather than one thing thoroughly: an hour and a half of coffee, and an hour of riding you would pay for on its own.
The shape is simple. You meet at the operator's office on 6a Avenida Norte, one block north of La Merced, get a briefing and a machine, and ride out through town. Finca La Azotea first or Cerro de la Cruz first depending on traffic, then back to where you started by lunchtime.
What the guide adds is the finca itself. La Azotea is a working estate with a cultural centre on the same grounds, and without somebody walking you through the depulper and the patio it is a pretty plantation and not much else. The walk-through post covers what you are looking at.

Who this suits, and who should book something else
This suits you if you want a morning out rather than a masterclass, you hold a driving licence, and the idea of riding a quad through a colonial town appeals more than it alarms.
Choose something else if the coffee is the reason you came. Ninety minutes is the shortest farm visit of the three featured mornings, and you will not meet the grower — the co-operative morning puts you in a producer's home instead. If you cannot drive, the walking farm mornings have no licence requirement.

Where you meet, and what you need on the day
There is no hotel pickup on this one. You go to the office at 6a Avenida Norte 60, one block north of the yellow church of La Merced and two blocks from the Santa Catalina Arch, and the tour starts there. For most visitors staying in the centre that is a five-minute walk.
Bring a driving licence. The listing is explicit that you cannot book a passenger rate without a driver rate alongside it, and a youth with a licence who wants their own machine books as an adult.

Frequently asked questions about this morning
Do I need a driving licence?
Yes, a valid one, and the listing will not take a passenger-only booking. There has to be a driver rate on the reservation. A young rider with a licence can take their own machine but books at the adult rate.
Is the ATV difficult to ride?
No. It is automatic, the briefing covers everything before you start, and the guide leads the whole route. The cobbled streets in town are the slowest part and the countryside beyond them is easy going.
How long do you actually spend on the coffee farm?
An hour and a half at Finca La Azotea, which covers the plots, the process and a cup. If you want longer among the trees, the bicycle morning gives you two hours on the same estate for less money.
Is there hotel pickup?
No. This is the one morning here that starts at the operator's own office, on 6a Avenida Norte, a block north of La Merced. If pickup matters, most of the other departures collect from your hotel.
Is the entrance to the farm included?

Can children come along?
